The Computational Social Science Society of the Americas
2022 International Conference

You are invited to participate in the Computational Social Science (CSS 2022) annual conference. The conference will be held in-person at The Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, October 27 – 30, 2022, near the historic central plaza in downtown Santa Fe.

CALL FOR PAPERS: CSS 2022

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: CSS 2022 SIGs, Workshops, and Tutorials

Submissions: The CSS Program Committee invites original papers and posters concerning computational models and analysis of social phenomena. Models from all social science disciplines are welcomed. All submissions, including posters, will be subject to peer review. The PC and conference organizers may request that submissions for papers be converted into posters depending on scheduling and content. For more info, including template, see: Instructions for Authors.

Papers: Papers should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words in length, including all figures, tables, notes, references and appendices. ODD documentation of models is encouraged and can be attached to a submission without counting against the word limit. All documents should be uploaded in PDF format (see Instructions for Authors for details). This year we will have two best paper awards.  The second award will be given to the best paper presented at the conference that deals with tax compliance, tax policy, or related topics.  This being the case, we are especially interested in submitted papers that deal with taxes, tax paying behaviors, or tax policy.  This award is sponsored and in memory of Kim Bloomquist, PhD.  If you are interested in joining the sponsorship of this award, please contact the CSSSA Board.

Posters: Poster submissions require only an ~800 word abstract for submission. They should be clearly marked as poster submissions in the title. A PDF version of the poster should be uploaded to the conference EasyChair site by the appropriate deadline (October 21) to be archived on the conference website.

Special Interest Groups (SIG): CSS2022 will include SIG sessions before the full conference. If you are interested in organizing a SIG workshop or tutorial, please send a brief description to info@computationalsocialscience.org by May 30th. SIG sessions can take a wide variety of forms, ranging from tutorials and workshops to group discussions or hackathons. SIGs that are approved by the conference organizers will be announced and provided with meeting space.  When planning your SIG event please make sure to include an estimated duration of the event in your proposal.

Paper Publication: All CSS 2022 accepted papers will be made available for conference attendees. Proceedings format TBD.
